Welcome to the Fine Art & Mural page for Upside Down Owl Studios! My name is Brando, and my journey in art and design has been one of lifelong passion and dedication. I first picked up a pencil to draw at the age of ten, and I haven’t stopped creating since. From those early days, I immersed myself in as many art classes as possible, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of artistic growth.

In 1998, I took my first formal step into graphic design by enrolling in a specialized course. My time in junior college brought invaluable experiences—working at a small screen print shop, where I learned the ins and outs of the print process, and apprenticing at a tattoo shop, where I honed my craft in a completely different medium. These experiences taught me the technical skills and artistry that would shape my design approach in the years to come.

By the early 2000s, I transitioned into full-time design work, partnering with a colleague to build a foundation as a self-employed graphic designer. In 2010, I took the leap to establish Upside Down Owl Studios, where I focused on branding and apparel design. My work became known for its unique style, and over the years, I continued to push my creative boundaries, constantly learning and refining my techniques.

However, despite all my commercial art production, I rarely found time to create personal art. The COVID lockdown changed everything for me, providing an unexpected opportunity to reconnect with my own creativity. I began producing fine art, developing a unique technique for stencil painting using a vinyl plotter and acrylic paints. This process has allowed me to express my vision in new and exciting ways, bridging my commercial skills with my personal artistic voice.

In 2023, I had the honor of painting my first mural—a large-scale expression of my art that felt both thrilling and transformative. The experience was so fulfilling that I was invited to create another mural in 2024, marking a new chapter in my journey.

Today, my fine art and mural work are an integral part of Upside Down Owl Studios. Whether it’s a custom mural, a limited edition stencil painting, or a piece of personal artwork, I bring the same passion and dedication that have guided me since I was ten years old.
